WARDOGS Base Building Guide$
The WARDOGS base building system: buildable types, hammer tiers, supply logistics, high-XP structures like drill rigs and mortars, and Support XP for builders.
Last updated
Base building is the construction system underneath WARDOGS's sieges: a catalog of buildables — walls, bunkers, gates, towers, drill rigs, mortars, anti-air, repair and refuel stations — that factions assemble from supplies mid-match. This page covers the system itself; for placement strategy and the drill connection, see the FOB building guide.
The construction toolkit
Building runs through the Support line's hammers. MetaForge's equipment database lists Small, Medium and Large hammers, and community tables price the Large Hammer's one-time unlock at $75,000 in Season 1 — the steepest early goal for a builder. Supplies move through the storage system: build-supply crates and pallets that teammates haul to the front, each one convertible into walls, doors and emplacements.
The buildables catalog
MetaForge's buildables database confirms the structure families you will place:
| Family | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Walls | Sandbag wall, Bremer wall, H-block | Perimeter and sniper denial |
| Cover | Bunker, indirect fire shelter | Survive incoming artillery |
| Access | Gates, doors (FOB and tower) | Controlled movement |
| Defense | Talon 9K SAM, Vanguard CIWS, L81 mortar | AA and counter-battery |
| Mechanic | Drill rig (at towers), loudspeaker | Hot Zone control, alerts |
| Logistics | Refuel station, repair station, recon tent/tower | Vehicle and intel support |
Storage matters as much as structures: ammo, fuel, build and mechanical supply pallets are what keep a base functioning once the shooting starts.
Leveling Support through building
Steam's "How to Level Support FAST" guide makes the distinction every new builder needs: random structures grant XP but do not help your faction, while high-XP structures — drill rigs and mortars — level you and win games at once. The guide's recommended path runs from your first hammer through proper base layouts, reinforced perimeters, gate airlocks, and finally those high-value structures. It also notes you can level Medic and Recon alongside Support by working inside a contested FOB.
Every successfully constructed building also earns cash — PCGamesN calls building the best income for players not ready to fight, and the make money guide lists it as method one.
What the community argues about
Early Access building balance is unsettled. Reddit builders lobby for drill placement changes, debate mortar dominance over base design, and disagree about the Vanguard CIWS's value versus the Talon 9K SAM. The wiki's position: present both sides, date everything, and expect patches — 0.1 and 0.11 already shipped changes in the first week.
