WARDOGS error codes are short but intimidating: WD-L004 on startup, an "Access Denied" dialog numbered 1147405308, kernel-mode failures tied to the Elytra anti-cheat. This page collects what is confirmed about each one, the community-published fixes, and — just as important — what is not yet officially documented.

WD-L004 (startup error)

WD-L004 blocks the game from launching for a subset of players worldwide — the error is real, common enough that multiple community guides exist for it, and the most complete published walkthrough is the Steam guide "ОДНО ИЗ РЕШЕНИЙ ОШИБКИ WD-L004" (Russian-language, community-authored).

Access Denied — error 1147405308

The numeric Access Denied error has its own Steam guide ("Fix 1147405308 Error Access Denied"), indicating it typically appears at launch for players whose system configuration blocks the game's protected processes. The same caveats apply: community-sourced steps, no official documentation yet.

Secure boot and the Elytra kernel anti-cheat

The official Steam page confirms WARDOGS uses Elytra, a kernel-level anti-cheat. Kernel anti-cheats commonly require Secure Boot enabled and unmodified Windows driver signing — which is why "does WARDOGS require secure boot" and "invalid kernel" are common searches. What is confirmed: the anti-cheat is kernel-level and a third-party EULA is required. What is not confirmed: an official statement that Secure Boot is mandatory. Wrongful bans at launch

Launch-week anti-cheat waves are known to produce false positives in many games; appeal through the forum with your Steam ID and the error text rather than creating a new account.
