Is WARDOGS on PS5 or Xbox? Not yet. WARDOGS launched September 10, 2026 as a PC (Steam) Early Access title — the official store page lists Windows as the only platform, with no Mac, Linux or Steam Deck support. Console versions, however, are officially planned: here is the verified picture for PlayStation and Xbox players.

The console plan, as reported

Launch-week press coverage of the developer's announcement reports that PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned, with a timeline of around 2028 — far enough out that Polygon noted next-gen platforms (PlayStation 6, next Xbox) are possible targets. Console storefront wishlists opened September 10, the same day as the PC launch, so PlayStation and Xbox players can already register interest.

The 2028 timeline comes from launch-window press coverage rather than a dated official FAQ on wardogs.com. Before making plans around it, check the official X account (@wardogs) and wardogs.com for the primary announcement.

What PC players' launch week tells console players

The PC Early Access is being used to stabilize and expand before consoles arrive: 1.25 million copies sold in days, a queue crisis fixed, Patch 0.11 reworking the server browser, and Season 1 already rebalancing progression. For console players, that is good news — by 2028 the game should ship with substantially more content and a battle-tested backend. For the full timeline, see the release date page.

What console players can do today

  1. Wishlist WARDOGS on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store (live since September 10).
  2. Follow the official X account and Discord for console announcements.
  3. Decide whether a capable PC is worth it earlier — the official minimum specs (GTX 1660, 16 GB RAM) are listed on the crash and performance page.

A note from the community: Steam reviews in launch week included players saying they would rather wait for console to escape PC cheaters — worth knowing both ways.
