WARDOGS Best Guns — Community Tier List
The WARDOGS best guns tier list: FAL, T-21, M4, SVD and PKM lead five rankings. Free starter rifles, damage-per-dollar data and budget upgrade paths.
Last updated
Which guns are actually the best in WARDOGS? Five independent tier lists published since the September 10 Early Access launch — from Destructoid, WardogsHub, SSEGold, Games.gg and Overgear — plus MetaForge's community-tested weapon database converge on a stable answer: the FAL, T-21, M4, SVD and PKM are the strongest purchases in the game, and the three free starter rifles are far better than their price tag suggests. This page turns those rankings into a shopping order for your bank account.
The free rifles: a $0 starting point
Three assault rifles cost nothing in the current build: the A-91, the Bushmaster M17S and the KH-2002. The damage math is what makes them respectable — 5.56x45mm ammunition deals 28 damage per round regardless of which rifle fires it, the same figure the $2,800 M4 produces. Against an unarmored 100 HP target, a free rifle kills in four body shots, exactly like a rifle costing $2,800.
The catch is the fire mode: all three free rifles are limited to semi-auto and burst, with no full-auto option. That single limitation is the main reason to spend money on a primary weapon — not damage, but rate of fire and follow-up shots.
Version note
Damage values above come from MetaForge's dataset dated to the August 19, 2026 pre-EA build. Season 1 rebalancing may have adjusted numbers; treat exact figures as approximate until a post-patch re-test.
The first upgrade: T-21 for $600
Community consensus (and MetaForge's data) names the T-21 the best single purchase in the game right now. At $600 — six percent of your starting cash — it fixes the free rifles' full-auto weakness without demanding a bank roll. If you buy one gun in your first ten matches, buy this one.
The budget tier, by damage per dollar
MetaForge's damage-per-dollar table (August 2026 build) covers everything under $2,000, with reference guns at the top of the range:
| Weapon | Price | Damage | RPM | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A-91 / M17S / KH-2002 | $0 | 28 | semi/burst | No full-auto — full free-rifle guide |
| T-21 | $600 | — | auto | Best early purchase — T-21 spotlight |
| MP5 | $1,500 | 22 | 800 | Medic-line SMG |
| AK74 | $1,600 | 26 | 650 | Assault unlock at level 3 |
| M4 | $2,800 | 28 | 800 | Assault unlock at level 20 |
| SKS | $2,400 | 42 | 420 | Recon-line marksman rifle |
| FAL | $5,500–6,500 | 60 | 650 | Tier-list №1 — price varies by source |
Data conflict
The FAL appears at $5,500 in MetaForge's table and $6,500 in WardogsHub's Season 1 list. The price likely moved with Season 1 — verify in-game before planning a purchase.
The meta picks, ranked
Across the five tier lists, the same names recur at the top: the FAL tops most tables as the best all-around assault rifle; the T-21 is the budget king; the M4 is the fully-automatic 5.56 benchmark; the SVD dominates the marksman category; and the PKM is the reference squad machine gun. YouTube testing channels reached similar conclusions — "I Compared All 24 Guns to Find the #1 Weapon in WARDOGS" and "I Tested EVERY WARDOGS Weapon" both land on the FAL/T-21 axis for infantry play.
Note the counting caveat: those videos test roughly 24 guns, while MetaForge's database catalogs 34+ entries including launchers and mounted weapons. Different tallies, different totals — check which pool a ranking uses before quoting it.
How this connects to progression
Every weapon credits a specific class line: rifles grow Assault, SMGs and healing grow Medic, marksman rifles grow Recon, shotguns/LMGs/launchers grow Support. Buying a gun you cannot level is wasted money — check the class mapping before you purchase, and see the loadout guide for how ammo and armor complete the kit.
Per-weapon spotlights
Seven weapons now have their own deep-dive pages with stats, unlock routes and loadout fit:
