SKS — WARDOGS Marksman Rifle: Stats, TTK & Sniper Route

The SKS in WARDOGS: $2,400, 42 damage per shot and a 122ms TTK — the fastest in the budget tier, and the first step of the Recon sniper route to SV98 and AMR 50.

Last updated

The SKS is the budget tier's damage king: $2,400 buys 42 damage per shot with a 122ms TTK against a 100 HP target — the fastest kill time of any documented budget weapon. It also starts the Recon sniper route: SKS (Recon 5) → SV98 (around Recon 19) → AMR 50 (Recon 35), per Overgear's unlock table.

Why 42 damage changes your role

Every rifle in the budget table fires 2-4 rounds to kill a 100 HP target. The SKS needs fewer — roughly 2.5 — which moves it from "spray and pray" into the marksman lane: mid-range fights, tower overwatch, and punishing players re-entering the fight after respawn (the classic complaint about WARDOGS rotations).

The Recon sniper route

  1. SKS ($2,400, Recon 5) — this page. Semi-auto marksman work at mid range.
  2. SV98 (around Recon 19) — the bolt-action step: slower, but the beginning of true one-shot-headshot territory at range.
  3. AMR 50 (Recon 35) — the anti-materiel endgame: the deepest unlock in the Recon line, reached only by committing weeks of Recon play.

The route is per Overgear's unlock table; exact level numbers drift with patches — re-check after each season.

SKS vs the assault rifles

  • vs the M4 ($2,800): the M4 sprays 28-damage rounds at 800 RPM; the SKS hits 42 per shot at 420 RPM. Inside 50 meters the M4 wins; past it, the SKS owns the fight.
  • vs the AK74 ($1,600): the AK74 is the cheaper full-auto bridge; the SKS is the precision upgrade — different jobs, similar price tier.
  • vs the T-21 ($600): keep the T-21 as your close-range full-auto backup; the SKS covers everything past mid-range.

August 2026 build data

Damage, RPM and TTK figures come from MetaForge's August 19, 2026 pre-EA dataset. Season 1 rebalancing may have adjusted values; re-test before committing endgame loadouts.
