WARDOGS Classes Explained — All 6 Roles
All six WARDOGS classes explained: Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver and Pilot — what levels each track, key unlocks, and which role fits you.
Last updated
WARDOGS does not lock you into a class. It has six progression tracks — Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver and Pilot — and your gear defines your role for each life: carry a marksman rifle and you are Recon for that deployment, drive a truck and you are building Driver. This page explains each track, what feeds it, and who it fits, based on Overgear's progression breakdown and MetaForge's community-tested XP tables.
The six tracks at a glance
| Track | Feeds on | Signature unlocks (community tables, unverified) |
|---|---|---|
| Assault | Rifles, pistols, objective combat | AK74 (Lv 3), M4 (Lv 20) |
| Medic | SMGs, bandages, revives | Defibrillator (Lv 11) |
| Recon | Marksman/sniper rifles, spotting | SKS (Lv 5), SV98 (~Lv 19), AMR 50 (Lv 35) |
| Support | Shotguns, LMGs, launchers, building, supplies | RPG-7 (Lv 5), Large Hammer (Lv 8), M249 (Lv 15), MAAWS (Lv 20) |
| Driver | Ground vehicles, transport, logistics | URAL (Lv 3), Dune Buggy (Lv 8), Humvee Minigun (Lv 30), heavy tank (Lv 35) |
| Pilot | Helicopters, air transport, air kills | Air XP reworked in Season 1 |
Unverified numbers
Unlock levels above come from Overgear's community-tested tables; no official documentation exists. Treat them as a map, not a contract, and see the leveling guide for the XP values behind them.
Which class fits your playstyle?
- Assault is the easiest track to level: rifle fights inside the Control Zone pay 250 XP per kill (275 for headshots, per community tables). Avoid using other lines' weapons — they credit other tracks.
- Medic mixes SMG combat with revives; stay near dense objective fights and the revive XP comes to you. Bandages, standard revives and defibrillator revives each pay different amounts (80/200/250 in community tables).
- Recon rewards spotting as much as sniping. Mark targets when sightlines are poor, reposition instead of camping, and let the SKS carry the early levels.
- Support is the builder's track: base construction, supplies and repairs, plus the heavy weapons that siege FOBs. The wiki's make money guide notes it is also the safest income track.
- Driver earns through ground transport — delivering passengers and parking the mobile spawn inside the zone pays both cash and XP.
- Pilot is the hardest track to level deliberately: air passenger delivery pays very little per head, so fly missions with purpose and take air-combat opportunities when they appear.
Roles, not identities
Because the track follows your loadout, switching roles is a purchase, not a commitment. The community meta for early accounts is to spread cheap levels across several tracks, then specialize once the first unlocks are paid — Assault and Medic for infantry players, Driver and Support for vehicle and builder players. See the loadout guide for how kits map to tracks, and the leveling guide for the XP-per-action tables.
