WARDOGS Maps — Bakurani, Ozeti, Zestafona$
Every confirmed WARDOGS map: Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona, the rotating 2x2km Control Zone, map size details and how objectives are placed on each battlefield.
Last updated
How many maps does WARDOGS have, and how big are they? Confirmed facts first: the game launched Early Access with three maps — Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona — and each match plays out inside a randomized 2x2km Control Zone carved from the larger battlefield, set in a destructible Eastern European industrial-mountain landscape. Those figures come straight from the official Steam page; community map tools track the three arenas and their artillery reference points.
The three launch maps
| Map | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bakurani | Live at launch | Community map tools and artillery guides cover it; a common tower-defense discussion map |
| Ozeti | Live at launch | Same rotation pool; terrain favoring FOB sieges per community guides |
| Zestafona | Live at launch | Included in MetaForge's artillery reference pages |
Details beyond names (landmarks, vehicle spawns, lane layouts) are still being mapped by the community — treat any specific claims about individual map layouts as early-access observations, not settled data.
How the Control Zone rotation works
The official description: matches take place within randomized 2x2km "Control Zones" inside the larger maps, inspired by King of the Hill. The zone's location changes between matches, and variables in zone placement mean "no match ever plays out the same." Inside each zone, several towers spawn in varying configurations — community guides count three to five per match — and the Hot Zone moves within the zone as the match matures.
Practical map-reading tips
- Open the map at spawn and check two things: which towers are in play and where the Hot Zone sits. Tower cooldowns are visible by hovering their icons — confirmed by the community towers guide.
- Plan rotations around cover, not straight lines. The map is destructible, which cuts both ways: your cover is also the enemy's cover until artillery removes it.
- Mortar players: community guides compute firing ranges from map coordinates — the Steam guide "L81 Mortar & Artillery — Exact Range From Map Coordinates" is the standard reference for indirect fire on any of the three maps.
Known unknowns
The total size of each large map (outside the Control Zone) has not been officially published; "how big is the WARDOGS map" is a common search precisely because no one has verified it. New maps beyond the launch three have not been announced — the roadmap so far points at content updates during Early Access rather than a specific map count. We will update this page the moment that changes.
