M4 — WARDOGS Assault Benchmark: Stats, TTK & Unlock Level

The M4 in WARDOGS: $2,800, 28 damage, 800 RPM and a 133ms TTK — the fully-automatic 5.56 benchmark every other assault rifle is measured against.

Last updated

The M4 is the fully-automatic 5.56 benchmark in WARDOGS: $2,800 buys 28 damage per round at 800 RPM — a 133ms time-to-kill against a 100 HP target, the fastest listed among the affordable assault rifles. It unlocks at Assault level 20, so it is a mid-progression purchase, not a day-one one.

The 5.56 math that frames the M4

5.56x45mm ammunition deals 28 damage per round regardless of which rifle fires it — the same figure the three free rifles produce. What the $2,800 buys is the delivery system: full-auto at 800 RPM instead of semi-auto or burst. Against an unarmored 100 HP target that is a four-round kill either way; the M4 compresses it into 133 milliseconds of trigger time.

M4 vs its neighbors

  • vs the free rifles (A-91, M17S, KH-2002): same damage, but full-auto and faster follow-ups — the entire price difference is fire mode.
  • vs the AK74 ($1,600, Assault 3): two damage less per round (26), slower at 650 RPM, but unlocks 17 levels earlier and costs $1,200 less.
  • vs the T-21 ($600): the T-21 remains the budget king for a first purchase; the M4 is where you land when Assault 20 arrives.
  • vs the SKS ($2,400, Recon line): the SKS hits harder per shot (42) and posts a comparable 122ms TTK for a marksman playstyle instead of full-auto spray.

Loadout notes

  • Run 5.56 FMJ as the general-purpose round; swap to AP when facing armored squads (see the loadout guide for the ammo triangle).
  • Its 800 RPM punishes trigger discipline — short bursts preserve ammo under the weight system.

August 2026 build data

Damage, RPM and TTK figures come from MetaForge's August 19, 2026 pre-EA dataset. Season 1 rebalancing may have adjusted values; treat them as approximate until a post-patch re-test.
